Brewery Spotlight: Urban Artifact
Hello sour beer friends! This month we are taking a look into an American based brewery for a change. Taking a departure from our usual British breweries. Our friends from across the pond know how to make very good sour beers.
This month we take a look at Urban Artifact. One of the most well-known sour beer producers in the states, based in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Urban Artifact doesn't just dabble in sours — it lives and breathes them. Their passion for tart, fruity, and refreshing brews is unmatched, and it shines through in every can. Favourites like Gadget, a rich and juicy raspberry and blackberry Midwest Fruit Tart, and Teak, a tropical explosion of mango and guava, perfectly capture their mastery of flavour. And if you're feeling adventurous, The Gadget: Double Raspberry offers an even bigger, bolder punch of fruit-forward goodness.
Each beer at Urban Artifact feels like a carefully composed symphony of fruit, acidity, and balance — making them a must-try whether you're a sour beer veteran or just dipping your toes into the world of wild fermentation.
Grace enjoyed the Sugar Pulm Urban Artifact 7.4% ABV in her Hops & Cans subscription box this month and was a big fan. Check out her Intagram for some other great beer reviews.
